Hey David, how’s it going? Sorry about that. Sorry Mr. Collins. How’s it going?
Not bad, not bad. Amazing, amazing. The reason I was calling you earlier is just to get a few words from you about your golf cart. I saw you listed an awesome icon 2025 on commonplace. And so I’m just trying to get it sold for you.
So I’ll just ask you a couple of questions if that’s okay. Do you have like five to ten minutes? Yes sir. Okay, perfect. And it’s okay if we record it just so we can have it on your listing and also share it on social media with some of our ads?
Sure. Awesome, awesome. Alright, while you’re listening to the commonplace talk show, we have real owners here. We’re speaking to David about his golf cart. And commonplace is basically where you can buy and sell high value items safely.

So David, tell me a little bit about when you bought it, why you bought this icon versus some of the other models and tell me about why you’re selling it as well.
I bought it because I was living in a golf cart community in Charleston, South Carolina. I was keeping up with the Joneses. My wife wanted it. We had one of the normal golf carts and this one got the stereo, all the fancy stuff, steering wheel, or not steering wheel, seat belt. With the governor on it, it’ll do 25 miles an hour, which I don’t want to drive it if it went any faster.
I understand. Yep, that’s plenty of glass. And now it’s just all the kids are out of the house and I have no need for a souped up golf cart that’s raised and will cruise down the road. Yeah, that makes total sense. So tell me, is this street legal?
Does it have a VIN on it? Yeah, I don’t know. Yes, it does have a VIN and it’s got turn signals and it’s completely street legal. I think in Florida you have to register it as a low-speed vehicle instead of a golf cart. And does it come with a title?
I don’t think golf carts don’t have titles. Okay, yeah, there are some states where at least you can register it and they’d issue a title for it, but I understand most golf carts don’t have a title. Yep, you just take the bill of sale and they’ll register it. Exactly, exactly. So tell me, this one has a lithium battery and most of these icons usually come with lead acid batteries.
Is that something that you upgraded or did it come with it? That particular model comes with the lithium batteries, which are great because they’re so much lighter and it charges in like an hour. It’s like 12. What’s the range on it approximately? On one charge, with the pedal to the floor, the whole time, it’s between 35 and 40 miles.
Amazing. And approximately how many miles would you say you put on it? I don’t even know. I think it’s got like 1800 miles. Okay, that’s really not bad.
I mean, some of these golf carts have thousands of miles on them and they’re still in great shape. Did you keep it in a garage the whole time? What was the maintenance and upkeep on it like? It was garage kept the whole time and the company I bought it from, Joe’s Carts, they came out every six months to maintain it. Amazing.
This one is really a creep up. Yeah, it was almost like $10,000 brand new, so they had to do something. Well, that’s great. I mean, whoever is getting this is really getting a phenomenal deal on this golf cart and they can get it delivered anywhere. So it’s awesome, even if they don’t have a golf cart like this in their area.
I’m sure where you live, there are probably a lot of similar carts, but somebody a little bit further, a couple hundred miles away might not have such great options. So this is really a phenomenal golf cart. You mentioned that you’re just not using it, right? That’s the only reason why you’re selling it. I don’t have any reason to use it.
Makes sense. Makes perfect sense. Is there anything that you’d say you found as like a surprise and a good thing or a bad thing, something that like the manual doesn’t necessarily tell you, but you kind of have to figure out while you’re owning it? Maybe it was like the stereo system that you liked, or is there something else that you were genuinely surprised by when you first started owning it? I was just, I wasn’t used to, I didn’t know, I mean, it’s like the, besides the speed, the speed itself.
The 25 miles an hour. Yeah. And, but, no, I mean, it’s way too much for a golf cart, but it is a golf cart. You know, like, I don’t know why I have to have the premium seats. You know, it’s got a backup camera.
Amazing. Wow. A backup camera on a golf cart. I’ve never heard of that one. Yeah.
That’s really awesome. It’s got like the full LCD, touchscreen, everything. Full LCD, and so it has like Apple CarPlay or navigation on it. Can you connect it to your phone? Yes.
Amazing. So you can stream like Spotify on it, have all your music. Yep. Speakers. Turn by turn directions.
Amazing. Wow, that’s incredible. Were there any golf carts that you were comparing before you bought this one, or how did you end up going with this icon? My wife saw it and said, wow, that’s amazing. All right.
