Kevin bought his 2024 Sea-Doo Spark brand new that year. He picked it because it felt like the dirt bike of the water, fast and agile for fun with friends.

The jet ski has 90 horsepower and 31 hours on it. Kevin reached a top speed of 49 mph and says it handles well with a second rider too. He used it in salt water and always flushed it then washed it down after every ride.

Maintenance stayed simple. Kevin brought it to the shop for winterizing each year and reports no battery or electrical issues at all. The trailer comes with it and is registered.

He liked how lightweight it is. Most times he rode alone or with his girlfriend, so easy handling made a big difference when taking it in and out of the water or anchoring for the day. It was also good on gas.

Kevin's favorite memories are the trips he took with his buddy. They would head out from Quincy, Massachusetts for a 20 or 30 minute ride, dock somewhere, and grab lunch together.

He is selling now because he has a dog and less time. His buddy moved away too, and it is not as fun alone compared to those shared outings. Kevin paid around 10 or 11 thousand dollars new with the trailer, taxes, and fees.

The full conversation

The complete interview, lightly cleaned up for reading:

Kevin: This is Kevin calling you guys back.

Commonplace: Hey, Kevin. This is Ari. Thanks so much for giving us a callback. I was just giving you a call to ask you a few questions about the jet ski that you listed on Commonplace. Do you have a yes?

Kevin: Sorry. What was that?

Commonplace: I was just asking if you had a few minutes, you know, to go through, talk to me about the jet ski. We basically just, you know, ask you the common questions that a buyer might have, and then we put it on the listing so you don't have to keep answering the same questions over and over again. So tell me, you know, a little bit about the Jet Ski, when you bought it, why you decided to buy this one versus some of the other ones, you know, a little bit about usage, the maintenance history, and why you're selling it.

Kevin: So I got it brand new in 2024. I wanted this one just because it was like it's like kinda like the dirt bike of the water. So it's, like, fast, agile, and it's, like, fun with friends. I I brought it into the shop for to be winterized every every winter. So it's been maintained well, and it only has thirty one hours. So it's pretty much, like, brand new still.

Commonplace: How many horsepower does it have?

Kevin: 90?

Commonplace: And then, like, why why are you selling it now?

Kevin: I I just I have a dog now and, like so it's just I don't really have the time. Plus, when I got it, I was living with one of my buddies, and he also had the same one. So we we were just using it a lot because, like, it was convenient because we were already together. But he moved he moved away, and I it's it's not as fun alone versus, like, with somebody, you know, because we would take it for, like, trips and stuff.

Commonplace: Are there any, like, issues with the battery or any electrical things with the jet ski?

Kevin: No. No issues at all.

Commonplace: Great to know. And how many people does it seat?

Kevin: Two.

Commonplace: Have you ever used it with two? Like, how does it how does it ride with the second rider?

Kevin: It's good, the two.

Commonplace: Nice. Have you hit the top speed on it, or what's the fastest you've gone?

Kevin: $30. The fastest I've gone is 49. Just the lobby at 60 one refined?

Commonplace: And how how did it feel? Was it smooth?

Kevin: That's great.

Commonplace: And did you use it on fresh water or salt water? And, you know, what was your flushing routine after the ride?

Kevin: Salt water, and I'd take it out, flush it, and then I would wash it down.

Commonplace: Do you know if the trailer is included and if there's registration?

Kevin: Yes. Trailer is included, and it's registered.

Commonplace: Good good stuff. I mean, if you if there are any, like, highlights about, like, your favorite, you know, times on the jet ski that you just wanna share, you know, whoever's listening to this is probably, you know, an enthusiast. They've probably been looking to buy a Jet Ski for some time. They're comparing it with some of the other ones. So if there's any, like, highlights you wanna share about your time on it or why you bought this model versus a different model that might, you know, push somebody in the right direction, that would be awesome.

Kevin: I got this one versus other ones because it's a lot more lightweight. So most of the times, obviously, with jet skis, you're gonna be by yourself or, say, you're with, like, your girlfriend or something, so you kinda have to do everything yourself. So it's it's super lightweight, so it's very easy to take in and out of the water. And it's very easy to, like, anchor and just, like, spend the day at the beach. It's good on gas. So once you do buy it, it's cheap from that point on. And from what I was told from when I bought it, it's it's the dirt bike of the water. And the second you second you get on it, you can you can tell what he means by that. It's it's very quick and turns fast. So you're not you're not really stuck in the mud like you would be with some of these bigger ones.

Commonplace: That makes perfect sense.

Kevin: And favorite memory would probably be going out with my buddy, and we we would like we'd take it out in Quincy, Massachusetts, and we'd take it for, like, a twenty, thirty minute trip and dock it and get lunch. So that was a lot of fun.

Commonplace: That's awesome. Amazing memories to be made on on a desk fee like this. And just tell me, like, how much did you pay for it? You know, I just wanna remind people, like, what a good deal they're getting.

Kevin: So when I bought it in 2024, the Jet Ski with the trailer, its taxes and fees and everything, I think it came around 10 or 11,000.

Commonplace: So you're getting it, you know, at a at a nice discount to that, and it's in great condition. It's been winterized. You flushed it every time. You know, you can definitely tell that you're somebody that takes care of their equipment, and that's exactly what you wanna hear, you know, especially when you're buying something used that's on the pricier side. And just to remind, you know, the buyer about how it works, we basically do, like, a full inspection upon pickup. You get paid immediately upon pickup, and then we do the full delivery, and then we walk the buyer through, like, how everything works so they can, you know, get started, you know, pretty quickly and easily. We manage all the payments. We do the full delivery within, like, a 1,500 mile radius. So, like, this could go to, like, South Carolina, you know, and that's definitely within that radius. So we do all of that hassle free and, you know, obviously, it's safe payment, so nobody's getting scammed ever. And, yeah, you could still get an awesome jet ski for a fraction of the price. So that's a little bit about how it works with us. And then you get paid. You know, nothing leaves your property until you're paid in full. Alright, man. Well, thanks so much for doing this. We'll add this clip to the listing, and we'll also use it to advertise on Facebook, YouTube, you know, Instagram, and try to get it sold as soon as possible. And if you have anything else that, you know, is either an appliance or, like, a hot tub, a sauna, golf carts, we do furniture, we do gym equipment, anything like that that's heavy, You know, on the pricier side, I would say something over $500. You know, definitely feel free to to make a listing. Or if you're looking for something like that, we have a bunch of listings you might be interested in.

Kevin: Sounds good.

Commonplace: Well, thanks so much, and have a great rest of your day, and we'll try to get it sold as soon as possible.

Kevin: Appreciate it. I just shoot have one question before I hang up.

Commonplace: For sure.

Kevin: So how does it work when somebody does buy it? So I forget what I posted it for. I think it was, like, 7,500. So when somebody buys it, do you tell me and I have to, like, confirm that it's okay to sell it, or how does it how does it work?

Commonplace: Absolutely. That's the first thing we do. So the way the buying works is that the person before they actually buy it, they put a $1 hold, you know, to basically reserve it. That basically triggers a message to you asking if it's available. And then once you say that it is available, we'll ask you for a pre pickup inspection, which is basically like a couple of photos, a few important videos, and, you know, just answer yes or no to a few basic questions. Once that's done, and you could do that on your own schedule, we then schedule a pickup time. You actually schedule it, so it's on your schedule, something that works for you. And then we'll confirm, you know, all that information that you did in the pre pickup inspection and the actual inspection upon pickup. And then you get paid once you're paid in full, it gets picked up, delivered to the customer.

Kevin: Sounds good.

Commonplace: Awesome, Kevin. Well, I'll talk to you later. Thank you thank you so much for doing this, and have a great rest of your day.

Kevin: You too.
