Becca bought her Hydrow Wave brand new in 2022 and used it for a couple of months before switching to a gym.
Becca bought the 2022 Hydrow Wave brand new. She used it consistently for a couple of months during the winter, then stopped after joining a local gym that offered more variety.
"We bought it in 2022. We bought it brand new, and we used it a little bit in the winter, like, consistently for a couple of months, and then we started going to our local gym because it just had more, like, variation for us, and haven't really touched it since," she said.
The machine has about twenty hours on it and remains in like-new condition. Becca is selling because she and her family are moving and have no space to store it.
The rower works without a subscription. Becca noted the app costs about forty dollars a month for guided workouts, but the machine functions as a standard rower otherwise. Resistance comes only from how hard you push off the foot pedals, with no calibration or settings needed.
"Everything's intuitive. It's based on there's no, like, calibration. You can't, like, set any settings. The amount of tension and, like, resistance you have is how hard you push off the foot pedals," she explained.
The listing includes the original black floor mat. Becca kept the unit in a smoke-free home with no modifications.
The complete interview, lightly cleaned up for reading:
Becca: If you record your name and reason for calling, I'll see if this person is available.
Commonplace: This is Art calling from Commonplace about your listing.
Becca: Thanks. Please stay on the line.
Commonplace: I was just calling from Commonplace. It looks like you submitted a listing, and I just wanted to confirm that your listing went through and and if you had any questions.
Becca: No. I think I'm all set as long as everything's good on your end.
Commonplace: It looks like you have a hydro wave rower. So if you don't mind, I'd like to ask you just a couple of questions about it, and we would basically add your answers to your listing just to help, you know, anybody looking to purchase a hydro in your area just answer questions upfront so they don't have to, like, harass you about it, you know, answer it once for everyone pretty much.
Becca: No worries.
Commonplace: So tell me a little bit about when you bought it and, you know, how much you've used it, if there was any maintenance, what condition it's in, and and why you're selling it.
Becca: So we bought it in 2022. We bought it brand new, and we used it a little bit in the winter, like, consistently for a couple of months, and then we started going to the our local gym because it just had more, like, variation for us, and haven't really touched it since. And then we're getting ready to move, so we're looking to to sell it because we don't have anywhere to put it.
Commonplace: It makes makes perfect sense. Do you remember how much you paid for it when you bought it, and did you buy it new?
Becca: I bought it brand new. I think it was, like, $12.50 if I'm remembering correctly, but I can't seem to find the receipt anywhere, so I'm not a 100% sure.
Commonplace: And the listing says about twenty hours on it. Would you estimate that to be about accurate?
Becca: That's probably that's pretty accurate.
Commonplace: And then how does it work with the hydro app? Is that something you have to subscribe to? And have you used it?
Becca: So it's I think it's 40 dollars a month.
Commonplace: Have you liked it?
Becca: The hydro app is really great. You don't have to use it on your phone. You can. The, like, screen itself connects directly to the app, and you just pick your workouts from there. The app runs off the subscription, so you can use I think it's, like, $40 a month, something like that. And you get to do as many workouts as you want, and there's a bunch of variations and all that stuff. Or if you don't wanna pay this subscription, you can use it as just, like, a standard rower. Like, it'll still work that way. So I'll try that to you.
Commonplace: That's that's really good to know. Because some people think that, you know, with these connected fitness devices, if they're not subscribed, you know, they won't be able to use it. But that's good to know that there's, like, a just ride feature. So people that just want the rower and don't necessarily wanna pay the $40 a month, they can still use it. Was there any, like, technical, like, know how that you had to figure out in terms of, like, the calibration or, like, the resistance levels or anything at all that you had to, like, watch a YouTube video for? Was everything pretty much intuitive?
Becca: No. Everything's intuitive. It's based on there's no, like, calibration. You can't, like, set any settings. The amount of tension and, like, resistance you have is how hard you push off the foot pedals. Does that make sense?
Commonplace: Got it.
Becca: And that's kind of, like, explained. They have, like, intro to rowing classes and stuff on there too so that they, like, walk you through how to do it and all that stuff.
Commonplace: And then last question, do you know if there is any warranty that comes with hydro?
Becca: That I'm not sure. No.
Commonplace: No worries. So we actually offer a two month warranty for free for the next owner just so, you know, they have some peace of mind that they're buying something used. It's it's still in good condition. And, you know, we'll do the full upfront inspection to make sure it's good before it's delivered. And then they can also get an add on warranty if that's something that they're looking for. But the way it works with us is that you get paid upon pickup. So, you know, your preference of Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or Bing So nothing leaves your property until you're paid. And it's totally hassle free. You don't have to lift the finger. Our crew comes in, takes it apart, pays you, and then, yeah, removes it, delivers it to the customer, sets it up for them, shows them how everything works, and it's super, super easy.
Becca: Sounds good.
Commonplace: Well, thanks so much for doing this. We'll add this automatically to your listing, and, you know, we hope to sell it as soon as possible. So, yeah, have a great rest of your day. Thank you.
Becca: You too.
