The owner purchased the jet ski brand new in 2021. It cost eleven thousand dollars plus another two thousand for the trailer. The model is a Kawasaki 160X, and the owner chose it because Kawasaki invented the jet ski and has been building them longer than anyone else.

The jet ski has always run in freshwater and stays garaged when not in use. The owner completed the original oil change and finished the factory recall. It still carries the factory tool kit and a fire extinguisher. The seat shows no rips or fading, and the gel coat remains in good shape aside from a couple of light scratches on the underside from beaching.

On flat water the jet ski reaches sixty-four to sixty-five miles per hour. The owner notes that the cooling system draws lake water directly, so there is no separate pump, radiator, or coolant to maintain. The trailer has good tires and includes a spare. Its tags stay current through January, and the title is notarized.

The owner decided to sell because the jet ski has not seen much use lately. "I hate to get rid of it, but it's just not getting used lately. So it's time to go, unfortunately." The trailer comes with the sale, and the owner kept the craft ready for the next person who wants a reliable three-seater for lakes or coastal runs.

Owner interview

The full conversation

The complete interview, lightly cleaned up for reading:

Commonplace: Is this Richard?

Richard: Yes.

Commonplace: Hey, Richard. How's it going? My name is Ari. I was calling from Commonplace. I saw that you listed a jet ski. And if you haven't a few minutes, I would just like to ask you a few questions and talk to you about it. Just, you know, get the answers out there on the listing so you don't get bombarded with a bunch of questions from from buyers. We could just get it out there on the listing once. So, you know, tell me about the Jet Ski. When did you buy it? How much did you pay for it? What condition is it in? And why you're selling it today?

Richard: I bought it in 2021. I bought it brand new. I bought it for I believe it was 11,000 and then another $2 for the trailer. It's it's in excellent condition. It had a the factory recall was taken care of. The gel coat is excellent. The underside, couple of scratches from beaching it, but nothing that the hole's not cracked or anything. Still got the the factory tool kit. It's got a fire extinguisher. The seat's not ripped. No fading. The trailer is good. It's got good tires. It's got a spare.

Commonplace: See that. And just to confirm, this is the Kawasaki s p x one sixty. Is that right?

Richard: One sixty X-ray.

Commonplace: Because I I think the the listing was missing it, but we'll add it to the listing with the with these details. Do you happen to know what the engine displacement or the top speed are?

Richard: The top speed on flat water is it'll do 64, 65. The engine displacement, I think, is I think it's either 15 or 1,800 cc. I'm not sure exactly, to be honest with you.

Commonplace: Do you know what the what the dry weight?

Richard: The dry weight? It's I don't think so off the top of my head.

Commonplace: What's the what's fuel efficiency like for, like, a two hour, you know, run?

Richard: As far as fuel efficiency, well, I mean, a lot of it depends on how hard you run it. But, I mean, you can run all day on a half a tank of gas. You know?

Commonplace: And then what's the, like, the flushing routine? Was it used in freshwater or saltwater and any winterization history?

Richard: It's never been in saltwater, so it's only ever been in freshwater. And it obviously, it does have the the flushing port where you can, you know because it does it it has it does use lake water or seawater to cool it. It doesn't have a a cooling system like a Polaris, but yeah. It's always only ever been on fresh water.

Commonplace: That's that's very good to know. Is there anything in, like, your maintenance routine that, you know, you wanna talk about or recommend to the next owner?

Richard: No. It's had its original oil change, the first oil change, and I keep it garaged. So, yeah, it's it is.

Commonplace: So it yeah. It looks like it's in great shape. And the tray the trailer is included.

Richard: It is. And that's a a 2021 Zeeman j one trailer. It's a single single seat trailer.

Commonplace: Tell me a little bit about this, you know, this model specifically. Because when you were shopping for a jet ski, I'm sure there are a bunch of options out there, you know, similar price points and different kinds of features and stuff. But, like, tell me what stood out to you about this model, why you got this one versus some of the others out there, and what would you what would you recommend to, you know, somebody looking to buy a jet ski, they see this one, how would you, you know, compare it to to some of the others out there?

Richard: Well, like I said, I mean, it's a Kawasaki, so it isn't an actual jet ski. It's the original, the original manufacturer of the jet ski. They've been doing it longer than anybody else. And I do like that it has that it uses either the lake water or seawater for the cooling system. So you don't have a water pump. You don't have a radiator. You don't have to worry about coolant, stuff like that. The reliability of it, the just I mean, it's it has reverse. I mean, it's just a good ski. It's good a good ski all around. So and a buddy of mine was actually a Kawasaki dealer out here, so that helped too.

Commonplace: I mean, that's that's pretty that's pretty great. I mean, you know, you're getting a great jet ski, the original, you know, very high quality with a great trailer that's been well taken care of, and it's at a wonderful price. I mean, it really doesn't get better than than all of that. So if there's anybody out there, you know, listening to this or reading the blog that we make from this and considering a jet ski, like, this is this is as good as it gets. And just, you know, just to let you know about how it works, Richard, you know, with Commonplace. So we do the full inspection. Once there's a buyer that's interested in it, they put down a $1 reserve. We'll do the full inspection. We make sure everything is good. You get paid upon pickup. So nothing leaves your property until you're paid in full, you know, however you prefer. We do bank transfer. We can do a wire. We also have PayPal and Venmo options as well. And then we transport it to the customer, you know, up to, I think, a thousand or 1,500 miles away. And then, you know, we also offer them a warranty separately. But, you know, once once you sell it, it's it's pretty much a final sale. So you don't have to, you know, worry about, you know, anybody, you know, any tire kickers or anybody, like, haggling or anything like that. So it's pretty much all set, you know, once we do the inspection and you get paid for it before pickup. So that's kinda how it works. And, yeah, I I don't have any more questions unless there's something else you'd like to share about the Jet Ski. And all of this, we're adding automatically to your listing so you don't have to worry about it. And if you want, I can send you an updated link to your listing.

Richard: And then just as far as it goes, as far as it it can here in Arizona, it is what would you call it? The tags are current until January. The the title of the trailer is notarized. Everything is good there. I mean, it really is a whoever buys it, it's it's gonna be a a really good ski for somebody. So, I mean, I hate to get rid of it, but I it's just not getting used lately. So it's time to go, unfortunately.

Commonplace: You know, makes sense. Everything has the right the right time and, you know, definitely, it sounds like you got great use out of it, and it's still an excellent commission. So why shouldn't, you know, somebody enjoy it a little bit more and and not have to pay full price for it?

Richard: Exactly.

Commonplace: Well, Richard, that's that's it for me. I really appreciate you listing it on Commonplace, and we'll do our best effort to sell it. We're gonna post this clip as well as your listing across all of our social media, and then also advertise it, you know, on Facebook, Meta, Instagram, Google, Craigslist, OfferUp, all those different platforms to try to get as much exposure as possible. Alright, Richard. Well, I'll talk to you I'll talk to you once it's sold.

Richard: Thanks, Ari. I appreciate it. You have a good day.

Commonplace: You too.
