Rod bought a house that came with several appliances still in their original boxes. He already had what he needed so these units stayed unused. The refrigerator is a 32-inch Whirlpool stainless steel model with an ice and water dispenser on the front. The two washers and two dryers are side-by-side top-load units.

He described the situation simply. Everything's brand new in a box. I didn't know when I bought the house it came with appliances so I didn't need them. The appliances have remained in storage since the purchase and show no signs of use.

Rod is open to selling the items together or splitting them if a buyer wants only part of the set. The washers and dryers include a drain line. He is asking at least about 35 for the group.

The units are full-size and come with power cords. Rod noted that the fridge has the ice and water in the front and is stainless steel. The laundry pair is side by side top loads. All pieces are described as brand new.

Rod has no further details on exact model numbers or retail prices beyond what he observed on the boxes. He is willing to separate the fridge from the laundry sets if that helps a buyer.

The full conversation

The complete interview, lightly cleaned up for reading:

Commonplace: Is this Rod?

Rod: Yes, sir.

Commonplace: Hey, Rod. This is Ari. I was just calling from Commonplace about the appliances you posted with us. Just wanted to ask you a few questions so that we can help you advertise it, if that's okay.

Rod: Yes, sir.

Commonplace: So let me pull it up here. Just give me one second. So it looks like we have some really nice appliances like refrigerator, a washer, dryer set. Tell me a little bit about them, how you bought them, when you bought them, what you paid, and why you're selling them now.

Rod: So everything's brand new in a box. So I didn't know when I came when I bought the house, it came with appliances. So I didn't need them.

Commonplace: So they came with the house, and you don't need the appliances it came with.

Rod: Yes. So I didn't yeah. I don't need yeah.

Commonplace: They look brand new.

Rod: They're brand new. Everything's still in the bottle.

Commonplace: So they you basically got them for free.

Rod: Basically.

Commonplace: And tell me a little bit about the model of the fridge. It looks like a Whirlpool.

Rod: So it's a 32 inch. It got the ice and the water in the front.

Commonplace: So looks like it's fully loaded.

Rod: Yes. Stainless steel.

Commonplace: Fridge, freezer, and then tell me about the washer dryer.

Rod: So it's side by side top loads.

Commonplace: Got it. I see that. And they're brand new.

Rod: Brand new.

Commonplace: So it's awesome. And then how much are you looking to get for them?

Rod: At least about 35.

Commonplace: So you're a little bit flexible, but it's still a great price relative to what they go for new. What do you think these things retail for?

Rod: So I'll Google the fridge. The fridge is about 14, and the laundry about and the laundry high. And they, you know, they charge 7. I'm doing it for I'm doing it set.

Commonplace: Would you be open to splitting them up if there was a buyer for just one of them?

Rod: Yes.

Commonplace: So that's great. So what we're gonna do next is we're gonna take some of this audio, connect it with the photos that you uploaded, which look great of the product. You know, some of them are still on the box. We're gonna make a little slideshow. We're gonna upload it to a bunch of different social media, and we'll send it to you as well and add it to your listing just to give the most transparency about, you know, your products, the listing, and just to give the buyer some more information about what they're purchasing. But these look great. They'll probably sell, you know, pretty quickly. And if there's any other information you'd like to include, you know, maybe about how the hookup works or anything like that?

Rod: So it it it come with the drain line and everything.

Commonplace: Sounds great. So just to finish it off, that's Rod's. Two washers and dryers as well as the Frigidaire as well as the Frigidaire appliances.

Rod: Yes.

Commonplace: Great great products, brand new, a little over 4,000 for the set. He is open to coming down a little bit, but that's what we do. We do the delivery. We manage the payments, and we also offer warranty options at checkout. So if this is something that you're looking for, you'll get it much better.

Rod: Yes, sir.

Commonplace: And I'll talk to you later.

Rod: That's what I want. Oh, yeah. That's what I want.

Commonplace: Thanks, man.
