Who should use which

Commonplace fits sellers who want it picked up, no meetup, and paid at pickup. Repowered usually pays more cash per sale, and the discount code is worth it if you are upgrading to new Peloton gear. Facebook fits sellers who will run the sale themselves. Repowered is Peloton-only.

Peloton Repowered is Peloton's resale marketplace for Bike, Bike+, Tread, Tread+, and Row. Listing is free, and the seller sets the price. Peloton's Repowered post says the seller receives 70% of the listing price in cash, plus a discount of up to $600 on new Peloton gear.

Repowered pays by ACH through Stripe. You set up a Stripe account and complete an identity check. That check may ask for a Social Security number, a date of birth, and a bank account. At an in-person pickup, the buyer inspects and completes the sale. With delivery, the buyer has 3 days to review, and the sale auto-accepts after 3 days. Delivery is by AptDeco, priced by zip, typically $500 to $900, and the buyer pays it. In-person pickup is free.

Facebook's shipping help covers Marketplace checkout. Meta's merchant policies charge individual sellers a 10% selling fee on a shipped checkout order, with a $0.80 minimum. An in-person sale sits outside that shipped fee. The net on that path is 100% of the sale price, no fee for local pickup. For a treadmill or a Peloton, you still handle the messages, the scheduling, the meetup, the move, and the payment.

What it costs and what you net

Commonplace says listing is free. You set your take-home. That number is your payout. The fees are added to the buyer's price. They are not taken out of your number. If you accept a lower offer, your payout is lower too.

Commonplace says a background-checked crew picks the item up from your home. You do not meet the buyer. Your address and phone stay private. The crew runs a 30 to 50 point inspection before pickup. The buyer approves it. Then the sale is final. You are paid at pickup, via Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or bank.

Buyers reserve for $1. They pay the balance on delivery when the price is under $8,000. Delivery is free within 100 miles.

An optional Promote add-on can post the listing to Google Shopping, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, Klarna, and ChatGPT. Promote is optional. A listing does not go to those sites on its own.
