We do not sell your personal information.
By providing your phone number and email, you consent to receive transactional messages and calls about your listings and orders, including a short call about a listing you posted to gather details that help it sell. Calls are recorded only if you agree at the start of the call, and we ask separately before any part of a call is published. You can opt out of non-essential messages and calls at any time by contacting us.
You can connect an AI app, such as ChatGPT or Claude, to your Commonplace account. When you do, you choose what it may do on the consent screen. A connected app can read the Commonplace catalogue, your own listings, the offers on them and your sales, and, if you allow it, create and change your listings and answer offers. If you allow it, it can also see your email address. It never has access to your payment methods, payouts, your password, or the ability to change your contact details.
Photos you give a connected app are processed like photos uploaded on our website, with location data removed. We keep a record of each request a connected app makes (the action, the time, and a shortened, masked copy of what it sent) for 12 months to operate and secure the service. The company that provides the app handles what you tell it under its own privacy policy. Sign-in tokens expire after 30 minutes and can be renewed for up to 60 days. You can disconnect an app at any time from your account, which ends its access immediately.
We use YouTube API Services to post videos to our own YouTube channels, including the videos sellers add to their listings, edited into short clips that link back to the listing. Some pages on our website also show embedded YouTube videos. By watching or interacting with YouTube content, you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google handles any information it collects under the Google Privacy Policy.
We do not ask you to sign in with your Google or YouTube account, and we do not access, store, or share your YouTube account data. If you ever grant us access to a Google account, you can revoke it at any time from the Google security settings page. To have a video of your item removed from our YouTube channels, email service@trycommonplace.com and we will take it down within 7 days.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the marketplace is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
We retain your information for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
