Johnny has a 2024 Sunlighten Signature Two sauna still sealed in its crate from when his warehouse acquired it last year.
Johnny keeps a Sunlighten sauna in storage. His warehouse picked it up last year and it has stayed there untouched. He decided it was time to sell.
"It's still in the crate, still in the cardboard, has not been opened, has not been assembled," he said. The model is the Signature Two in black eucalyptus, a color the company no longer offers.
The unit runs on a standard 120-volt or 110-volt outlet and simply plugs in. It carries no transferable manufacturer warranty. Johnny listed it at $5,500 while noting the retail price sits at $6,500.
He answered a few questions about the sauna during a short call. When asked about features such as audio or lights, he said he did not know the details offhand. The same held for any warranty questions.
The sauna has never been used. It remains exactly as it arrived from the manufacturer, crate and all. Johnny sees no reason to keep it sitting any longer.
The complete interview, lightly cleaned up for reading:
Johnny: This is Johnny.
Commonplace: Hey, Johnny. I was just calling you. I think you listed a moped with us on Commonplace.
Johnny: A moped? No. I did not.
Commonplace: Did you list a sauna perhaps?
Johnny: Yes.
Commonplace: Sorry I mixed you up with another listing. But one thing that we to do is just ask a couple of questions and then have those answers featured on the listing. So if you have, like, a couple of minutes and don't mind answering some questions about it, so go for it. So tell me a little bit about the Sunlight and Sauna and when you bought it and why you're selling it.
Johnny: Well, it's still in the crate, still in the cardboard, has not been opened, has not been assembled. My warehouse acquired it, like, last year, and it's just been sitting here. And I decided that I wanted to sell it, and that's it.
Commonplace: So it's still in the box. It's pretty much branded. Do you know what these things retail for?
Johnny: 6,500, I think.
Commonplace: So whoever is looking at this is getting an incredible deal. And is this the m pauls or the signature model? Do you happen to know which Sunlighten model it is?
Johnny: Signature two black eucalyptus, and they don't even make it anymore. I couldn't find it on the the website. Like, they make the wood colored eucalyptus, but they don't make the black anymore or or it's out of out of stock or something.
Commonplace: Got it. You're selling something that's out of stock for a fraction of the price. That's that's pretty awesome. Do you know any of the features, like, what the Bluetooth audio connectivity is like or if there are any other accessories, maybe, like, lights or chromotherapy, something like that included?
Johnny: Let's see here. And not offhand, honestly.
Commonplace: No no worries. No worries there. Any chance there's a warranty that's transferable because it's pretty much brand new in the box?
Johnny: No. No.
Commonplace: That's all good. We also offer a warranty to whoever buys this. They get a free two month warranty. And then if they wanna get an extended warranty, they can they can purchase it at checkout. So no worries there. In terms of, like, what the electrical requirements are, do you happen to know that offhand?
Johnny: Just regular one twenty volt or one ten. I think it just plugs in.
Commonplace: So super easy plug and play. And what we do is we actually set it up for the customer. So after we pick it up from you, we deliver it to them. We set it up for them. So, you know, it's pretty much plug and play. You know, you purchase it, and then a day or two later, you get it delivered. So I don't really have too many other questions unless there's something else that you wanna highlight about this sauna other than the things that we already spoke about.
Johnny: No. How do I get paid if this if this sells?
Commonplace: So super easy. We basically inspect it upon pickup. Obviously, this is brand new in box. There's not much to inspect there. And then we pay you with either Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or Bing transfer upon pickup. So nothing leaves your property until you're paid in full.
Johnny: Sweet. Sounds good.
Commonplace: Of course.
Johnny: Should I list for more?
Commonplace: Johnny, thanks so much.
Johnny: More than thousand? Should I should I list it for more than 4,000?
Commonplace: You can list it for, basically, you know, any price that you want. There is a fee that the platform takes, so that's deducted from the payout amount. You should be able to see that when you're making your listing. But you can also, you know, list the price for for whatever you'd like. We have saunas listed, you know, from 2,000 on the cheaper side all the way, you know, to $810,000 on on the more expensive premium, you know, bigger size. So I think this is priced pretty well, you know, being that it retails for 6,500. It is new, you know, so I don't know. If if you listed higher, definitely wait a little bit more and and see if if there's anybody interested. But, you know, I think I think it's priced pretty well.
Johnny: Sweet. Thank you.
Commonplace: Have a great day. Bye, Johnny.
Johnny: You too.
Commonplace: Thank you.
