I was just calling from Common Place. I saw that you listed a swim spa and if it’s still available, I’d love to ask you a few questions about our talk show just so we have some more information for the buyers that are interested in it. Yeah, that’s fine. All right, perfect. Just give me one minute to pull that up.

I’ll basically just ask you a few questions. It’ll take like, you know, maybe 5 to 10 minutes. That’s okay. Very good. Awesome.

So Matthew, why don’t you tell me a little bit about this swim spa, the condition that it’s in and why you’re selling it right now. Hi Aaron. So the swim spa, like you stated, is a 2023 Master Spa.

We originally purchased it just for an entertainment piece on the back porch of ours. And I also utilized it to basically kind of train for a triathlon. So I completed the triathlon and have to kind of decide to do different interests for the most part and have more use for the space. So we’re looking at kind of selling it. It’s in great condition.

It’s been upkeep the whole time. It’s never necessarily been weatherized. So the pipes have always been maintained and everything like that. There’s been no issues for it. Everything works great.

So other than that, it’s pretty much all I can really say about it right now. Amazing. Perfect. And do you recall when you purchased it, how much did you pay for it? Like fully set up delivered?

It was out the door 48, but that didn’t include delivery. So completely set up out the door. It was well over probably 50, so 52 probably out the door, completely set up. It was purchased from a local dealer. So that’s kind of amazing.

And so when you were looking to purchase a swim spa, there are a bunch of models out there, different price points. And based on your use case, which was part training and part leisure, how did you decide to land on this one? So there’s a lot of brands out there. Master Spas is one of the brands that’s most recognized to being one of the best quality. Also, in addition to it, the Challenger is the second tier of the Master Spas lineup.

So you have the trainer to start. We did a test swim of the trainer model and the jets essentially, it’s a different jet propulsion system, wasn’t necessarily strong enough. So the Challenger is their mid tier one. The next level up is like the Michael Phelps one. So the Challenger provided a good, I’m going to say, resistance on the swim test for me to pretty much train for the triathlon.

So that’s why we ended up going with it. Also, there’s only a few of the spa manufacturers/dealers in our area and Master Spas. We went and looked at a endless spa one. They were actually more expensive than the Master Spas one and the Master Spa quality just seemed like it was the best bang for our buck. Yeah.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. And for any of the swimmers out there, you definitely use this to get exercise and really practice the swimming component of the triathlon. So can you maybe do your best and explain what the feeling is like swimming in a swim spa and specifically this one relative to maybe a pool or a river or something like that? So that is something that I had to get used to. So a lot of these swim spas, you normally need a tether for the Master Spa.

You don’t need a tether. So if you have a good swim stroke, you can kind of maintain the buoyancy of yourself and get a good flow of, I’m going to say, a good swim. Definitely, I’m on the taller end, so the 15-foot swim spa was probably the smallest I can go. I’m around 6’3″, so swimming at that is probably the shortest I would go. So if you’re probably 6’3″ or shorter on the Master Spa, it takes a little bit getting used to.

But for the flow of it, it’s got a good water flow. It’s not necessarily very airy or bubbly like some of the other swim spas out there. So it’s got a pretty good continuous flow, and I would say, for the most part, just a little bit of some practice and you’ll get used to it. And then for the propulsion system, is it jets, and do you know how many jets there are? It is jets.

The main jet propulsion, I forgot what Master Spa calls it. You have the wave technology, and this one is mostly jet propulsion. But there are six jets, so you have one main river jet that basically gives you an updraft underneath you, and then you have the current jet on top where you can control them. So you have five that you can control, and then one river jet that kind of has a continuous flow. Amazing.

That’s super cool. And then let’s get into some of the maintenance and upkeep. What’s the hardest part about owning a swim spa like this, and what does it take to maintain? I’m actually part of a Facebook group where I was a little worried about having a swim spa because one of the things that they always talk about in the Facebook group is, it’s really difficult. But for me, with the Master Spa, we use the frog ease treatment, so it’s basically like a floating chlorine tablet treatment, and I haven’t necessarily had that many issues with it.

So I normally check it. I have a subscription base for the chlorine tablets right now for the frog ease system that comes once a month or so, and then I usually check it for pH and phosphates, and that’s pretty much it. Amazing. And that’s kind of like a set it and forget it for a month, and you just replace the tablet, and it just floats around in there, keeps everything level. So it sounds like it’s been taken care of well for whoever is going to be the next owner of this swim spa.

You’ve had it for a few years, but it’s been well maintained. Yes. Yeah, but you definitely want to make sure that the chlorine levels stay up there so that there’s no allergen really like that growth. So for the most part, the frog ease system takes care of it. Awesome.

So let’s get into the electrical requirements and what did the installation look like? So it does require a spa disconnect. So it’s a 220, 50 amp spa disconnect. So if you’re looking at installing it, you’ll definitely need space in your breaker box. So it should be two 120 breakers.

So you’ll need to put two in your breaker box. I actually, the installation was pretty quick, so we had that space. They basically just ran the cable off to the side. And right now for the swim spa itself, it just comes into the side via a conduit. So it’s pretty straightforward.

It wasn’t necessarily anything hard for an electrician. They basically stood it up and got it running within 45 minutes or so. Okay. That seems pretty standard across the board for swim spas. So yeah, just make sure you have an electrician to help set you up.

But it is pretty standard. Cool. Anything else we should know about the swim spa? Like what condition is the cover in or is there anything else that you’d want the next owner to know? The cover is in decent condition.

There’s obviously some normal wear and tear, but for the most part, it does come with a rowing kit. I’d never used the rowing kit, so that’s also included. We’re pretty much looking at having everything included, right? So it is built into a deck, so there’ll be some logistics on my side to kind of help get it out of where it’s currently at. But it’s been on a pretty solid foundation.

No movement in it. It’s pretty much been running pretty consistently, no issues with it at all. And everything that I’ve had with it, I’ll include in the purchase of it. Amazing. Is there anything else you can list that you’re including?

Do you know anything about the warranty? So unfortunately, with master spas, their warranty does not include transfer of the actual product itself. So once it’s placed into its first, I’m going to say, home, then the warranty stays with the home and the swim spa. So that is unfortunate, but I will provide pretty much the full set of chemicals I have, the rowing kit, I should say. If we do have it disconnected, I could throw in the actual spa disconnect switch that was originally with it.
