Matthew bought the XS1 new in May 2023. He had his eye on a Tonal first, but his room did not have the ceiling clearance a wall mounted Tonal needs, so he went with the OxeFit instead. He is honest about the comparison: he thinks the Tonal is a great machine, but for his space the XS1 was the better call, and in one way it is actually more versatile. In his words, this one can also be used as a rowing machine, which the Tonal cannot.

The important part for a used buyer is that the machine works fully without any membership. You own it outright, and the subscription is only if you want the coaching content.

Condition, and why he is selling

Matthew used it a lot the first year and says there is nothing wrong with it. It has been indoors in a private home the whole time. He is selling for a simple reason that has nothing to do with the machine: he needs to turn the room back into a bedroom with kids on the way. He was also upfront that he personally does better going to a gym to stay focused, which is exactly the kind of honesty we want a buyer to hear before they commit.

Matthew's own take is that this is for someone who has a decent amount of space and is setting up a real home gym, and who likes guided, tech driven workouts. Commonplace: Hey, Matt. This is Aria. I was just calling you earlier from Commonplace. It looks like you were you were listing some gym equipment. Is that right?

Matthew: Yes, sir.

Commonplace: Let me just pull up. I think it was an Oxted. Is that right?

Matthew: Yes, sir.

Commonplace: I'd love to ask you some questions about it just so we can better advertise it. Usually, we cut the audio and video out of it, and we can advertise it on different platforms. So if you have, like, five, ten minutes, I'd love to ask some questions and, you know, we can help you get it sold.

Matthew: A 100%. Sorry. Sorry about earlier. It's the last day of the month, and I'm in automotive retail, so it was a little hectic the whole day of 2,000 customers on the South.

Commonplace: I can imagine. Oh, awesome. I appreciate it. So let's do our best to get it sold. So just, you know, give me a rundown. How long ago did you buy it? Why'd you buy this model? And why are you selling it?

Matthew: I got it in May 2023. I bought I was trying I was originally trying to get a tonal, but the tonal did not fit in my in my house. I didn't have the clearance for the ceiling, so I went with the ox fit. It's a great unit, but to be honest with you, it's too big for where it is. And I gotta turn this room back into a I gotta turn this room back into a bedroom because we had kids coming. So thank you.

Commonplace: Well, congratulations. How how long have you used it? Like, how many uses are on it? Is there anything wrong with it? And what are your favorite features?

Matthew: Nothing wrong with it. I mean, it got it got decent amount of usage, to be honest with you. I I thought it was the right idea to have something in my house. And then after I had it in the house, I was like, this just is not the same as the gym. So I probably haven't touched it in a solid year, but it got, you know, a lot of use, like, the first year. It it it is a great machine for what it's worth. It's just for me, I need to go to the gym. I need to be focused. I can't I can't be in my house and have people trying to distract me.

Commonplace: Makes makes sense. What what would you say, like, are some of the standout features on here that, you know, you'd recommend for whoever is, like, thinking about this or a tonal or some other home gym equipment? Like, what really sold you on it?

Matthew: Well, I mean, if I'm being perfectly transparent, I think the Tonal is a better machine. I've used both of them. I just didn't have the space for it, the clearance, the head clearance. But it's very similar machine. This is actually more versatile than the Tonal than the Tonal because you could also use it as a rowing machine. It's got a it it has a great interactive feature, like your, you know, your one on one trainers, you know, similar to a Peloton. I don't know if you guys have sold any of these before.

Commonplace: Absolutely.

Matthew: Oh, you have?

Commonplace: We have sold.

Matthew: So, yeah, I mean, the machine kinda sells itself. I mean, anybody who's looking for this kinda knows what it is. But if you have any, like, specific questions, I could absolutely try my best to answer.

Commonplace: I mean, it there's nothing wrong with it. It is pretty versatile. Are there any, like, AI features that that help your workout?

Matthew: Nope. Not that I know of because I don't have the app anymore through Oxit.

Commonplace: Do they charge anything, like, the the monthly membership?

Matthew: I mean, the the machine is yours once you own it, but if you wanna have their platform, like, similar to Peloton, they charge $40 a month. And then you get the classes, the live classes, the recorded classes, and the live personal training.

Commonplace: But are you able to still use it without the membership?

Matthew: Yes.

Commonplace: And, you know, if you were to recommend this to someone, like, who would you say this is perfect for? And who would you say, you know, you'd probably be better off going to the gym? Like, just so that we can set expectations in terms of, you know, who's looking for something like this that they don't have something they don't necessarily need.

Matthew: You know, somebody who's definitely somebody who has a a decent amount of space and is currently setting up, like, their own home gym, probably a younger adult. I don't know. It's a good question.

Commonplace: You know what the what the weight limit is, like, in terms of resistance?

Matthew: The the the machine resistance is 250 pounds.

Commonplace: That's super helpful. And and is the bench included, and is there anything else that's included with it?

Matthew: I got a bench. We got a a rope. We got the the rack the accessory rack from them. There's a bunch of other accessories. There's a row handle. There's a bent a flat bench handle. There's a I don't even know what that is, but there's a straight bar push put pull down, a couple of footsteps.

Commonplace: And do you know if there's a warranty from Oxford on it?

Matthew: I don't think there's a warranty anymore on this.

Commonplace: That's fine. But there's nothing wrong with it.

Matthew: No. No. It's fine.

Commonplace: Sweet. Was there anything that, like, after you bought it was less intuitive and, you know, just, like, any tips or tricks you could hand off to the next owner? Is there anything that, like, you have to look up on YouTube that, you know, maybe you have to figure out?

Matthew: No. I mean, it's all very, very straightforward. It tells you it shows you how to do every exercise. It shows you how to set up the handles. It shows you where everything has to get moved. It's very intuitive, but it also is very face consuming.

Commonplace: It's big.

Matthew: Yes.

Commonplace: It's big.

Matthew: But but that's not what definitely don't wanna market there.

Commonplace: So you definitely need to pay for it. Got it. And do you remember how much you paid for it retail when you bought it in 2023?

Matthew: It was, like, 5,600.
